This notice explains how Protean Sports Limited handles the personal information you give us through this website. We collect very little, we use it only to reply to you and to work with you, and we never sell it.

Who we are

Protean Sports Limited is the data controller for information collected through this site. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 13889068. You can reach us about anything in this notice through the contact form on the homepage.

What we collect

When you use the contact form we receive your name, your email address, your organisation if you give it, and whatever you write in your message. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this site, and we do not track you across other websites.

How we use it

We use what you send to reply to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to manage that relationship. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Who else sees it

Messages sent through the form are delivered to us by our website host, which processes them on our behalf and only on our instructions. Our email is provided by a business email service that holds correspondence securely. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK, and where they do we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

If you subscribe to our writing, you do that directly with Substack, which handles your details under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to two years after our last contact with you, unless we are working together, in which case we keep records for as long as the relationship lasts and for the period the law requires afterwards for business and tax records.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it or ask us to restrict it, and ask us to transfer it to you or someone else. To do any of these, contact us through the form and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this notice and the date at the top.
